  • Tell the case manager or program staff who provided information about this program to you that you are interested in enrolling in the study. They will provide a recruitment code for the screener.

There is no cost to take part in this study. However, depending on your data plan, message and data rates may apply if you are not on Wi-Fi while using the website.

Depending on the number of surveys and activities you choose to complete, you may receive up to $315 in e-gift cards.

Next4You Website Activities

  • You may receive up to $125 in e-gift cards by completing website activities.
  • The first $25 e-gift card can be redeemed by logging on, creating an account and completing 2 lessons.
  • The remaining amount (up to $100) will be emailed as an e-gift card at the end of the 4-week period. The amount of the final e-gift card will depend on the number of lessons you completed.
  • Gift cards will be emailed electronically.
  • Please be sure to provide a secure and private email address on the consent form. We have also prepared a Gift Card FAQ that has more detailed guidance for redeeming your gift cards.
  • You DO NOT need a parent or guardian to sign the consent form to take part in this study.
  • The only adults who will know about your participation will be the program staff who introduced the study to you.
  • Your parent or legal guardian or any other adults will not be informed unless you choose to inform them yourself.
  • You may choose to stop the study at any time.
  • It is your choice. The activities and surveys are voluntary.
  • There is no penalty if you choose not to take part. You will not lose benefits or access to any services you receive now or in the future.
  • However, you will only be able to receive e-gift cards for the activities that you complete in the 4-week use period and surveys that you choose to complete.
  • We will not share your name, email, data, or other identifying information with anyone or any organization outside the ETR and RTI study team.
  • Your name will not be listed in any reports we write. The report will say that the survey and the Next4You website were completed by transition-aged young people without listing specific names.
  • Information collected from the surveys and website are confidential.

There are minimal risks in taking part in the study activities.

Survey:

  • You may feel uncomfortable answering questions about sexual topics.
  • You can skip any survey questions that you do not feel comfortable answering.
  • There is a small chance that someone could see survey answers, but nobody's answers are stored with their names.

Next4You website:

  • You will access the Next4You website with the unique username and password you created after logging in for the first time.
  • Do not share your login information with others. If the device you are using to access the Next4You website is a shared device, you may want to disable cookies and log out each time you are finished.
  • The website is meant to be used alone so nobody will see you on the website unless you are using it with someone nearby.
  • You can skip activities or close any activities you do not like.
